Clothesline Festival

The Clothesline Festival is rapidly approaching and I’m not ready! Not that I every am, but this year is the least prepared that I have ever been. Sigh, I just can’t seem to prepare ahead of time with these things! This year has been a hard one for me. Lot’s of changes are happening and I’m having a rough time keeping up emotionally. For now, here are a few photos of what I have been working on:

I call them mini environments because that is what they are.  A little window into a perfect and happy world!

A Castle

Sand, Flowers, Shells, Tears and Ashes.  The castle.  Beautiful and remote;  Passionate and life sustaining.

The tide, living and not.

Sweeps in.

All is Cleansed and New.

A flower remains.

Purple and blue.

A marker.

To remember.

A place to belong

The beauty of your mind is that it can take you to wonderful places full of wonder and mischief and welcoming peace. When I glaze my pots I layer color upon color to create what I see in my mind.  I create the perfect story. Each story is set in a place full of goodness. When you pick out a pot you pick out a place on a map that belongs solely to you. A safe place to fill your heart each day.

A Beginning

Hello to anyone that reads this.  I’m new to this and am experimenting on just what to do and say.  I’m a potter, mom and widow living in Rochester, NY.  I have 4 terrific kids, a rather large cat that we call “The Rabbi” and a dog, 1/2 husky 1/2 Australian Shepard, that we call Hummus.  Eventually I want this to be a sight to display my pottery but for now I’m just trying to get the hang of it all.   Be patient and by all means leave a comment.  I have NEVER done this before and need all the help I can get.Welcome mugBeautiful TownHobbit Hole
